The South Pacific beach is a dream destination for many. But where do our ideas of a “vacation paradise” and “untouched nature” come from? How do wishful thinking and reality relate to each other? Are we satisfied with just the illusion, with images and replicas of our places of longing? Destination looks at how our needs are sometimes artificially generated and the aids we use to try to come at least a little closer to our pipe dreams.
